4th grade field trip to the HOOD Museum of Art
Students explored works by photographers Matthew Brandt, Abelardo Morell, and Kim Keever and considered how these artists have experimented with water in their own photography practices—from pouring water on their just printed photographs, to setting up landscapes inside of an aquarium and dropping pigments into it.

A Visit to the Fairlee Public Library
Both the 3rd and 4th Grade classes have had incredible field trips to the Fairlee Public Library to meet the librarian and explore our phenomenal public library. For some of us, it was our first trip. For a kid getting their own library card is like their first driver’s license. It allows their mind and imagination to travel freely. Think of it as that first driver’s license that gives the responsibility, a sense of independence and freedom to choose books when and where they want. A weekly visit to the town library can begin a life-long relationship that supports personal, academic and professional growth. Please plan ahead for a weekly reading routine during the winter months. Tucking away, getting lost in a book and sipping some cocoa while hidden from the winter wind can be perfect alternative to a screen. Need a cure for that “we’re not reading enough…” No worries - there’s a book in the library on the shelf, or an book online for your tablet - just waiting for you.
